I made a discovery the other day that I wanted to share. My discovery is one of the most beautiful songs I think I have ever heard. It's one of those songs that you're never qulite the same after listening to, though you can't really describe how. I must give credit to to the wonderful taste of Cody Ingram, seeing as I found the song on his MySpace sight. I always seem to find some new song I never knew about that I end up really liking from his profile...but, back to this particular song, it's called "Bird Song" by the Sheree Chamberlain band. Check it out here: http://www.myspace.com/thesherreechamberlainband . If you don't like it....well...then I guess we just have different tastes.
Other songs that are on my playlist right now: One Republic's "Apologize", Kill Hannah's "Believer", The Killer's "Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll", Garrison Starr's "Beautiful Los Angeles", A Perfect Circle's "Blue", Muse's "Knights of Cydonia"

I keep playing around with some of the categories, but I almost have it perfected. There are just a couple of songs that I'm not completely happy with....so, I'd say it's 90% finished. I'll put the official copy up when I'm finished.
Things are going well in the "Wonderful World of Melissa." Megan is almost married! How exciting is that?!? I have a beautiful, red bridesmaid dress sitting in my closet that can't wait to get worn. It seems to crazy that so much time has passed and that it's already here! The bachelorette party was quite the production, courtesy of Tessa and Kinsey, and it was wonderful to see Abby for the second time this summer.

With the wedding coming up, that means that it's almost time for me to leave my little niche in Midwest City. While I will be quite upset to be moving away from Sara, it will be nice to be on the Southside close to......well, everyone except Sara. Check your email boxes sometime within the next month for my address change!
Speaking of email, it has come to my attention that I haven't been receiving all of my emails...there isn't a consistent pattern, and I only figure it out when someone says "Hey, did you get my email?" and I say "Nope, sure didn't." So, if you have sent anything to me that you felt was important or warranted a reply and didn't get one, please take this into consideration...I promise I'm not ignoring you or going into "friends off" mode. If you think you fall into this category, your best bet is to send me a message on MySpace or Facebook...because, well, I think everyone in the entire world between the ages of 20-25 has at least one, if not both, of those forms of communication.
Everything else is doing all right. Nothing to complain about, at least off hand. I'm either working or hanging out with my friends...and, well, since most of my friends I work with, I'm usually doing both at the same time.

I guess I'll close for now....well, I say "for now" but that will probably mean at least a couple weeks from now, if not longer. Upcoming events for future post topics: Megan's wedding (obvious), moving into my new apartment (also obvious), next month's Flaming Lips concert, Sunday night poker nights, the upcoming NFL season (and if we ever get our fantasy league together), and other random happenings around the city.
Stay tuned. |
